El Riad Fife and Drum has a lot to brag about. Not only is it the sole fife and drum unit throughout all the Shriners chapters, but it’s the largest unit of the El Riad Shriners and regularly fundraises $25,000 to $35,000 for the temple and Shriners Children’s. That’s not to mention that members host the second-largest beer pong tournament in the country during its popular St. Patrick’s Day party. Founded around 1960, the unit is 50 members strong, regularly appears in community parades and hosts rush parties at members’ homes to introduce potential members and their partners to the group and its mission.
